The Short Stay Show team have been out and about speaking to property owners, managers and investors on how they can help get answers to their burning questions and use the events network of fab supplier to make your business boom. Ale is going to take on these questions, and provide insight as to how Booking.com is taking on the real day-to-day challenges in partnership with their accommodation partners.

  • Guest expectations are so important in this industry. Serviced apartments and accommodation are a very popular new trend, how is Booking.com educating the public that they are not the same as hotels so guest expectations are managed correctly?
  • The day-to-day of managing one property versus a portfolio of properties is quite different. What is Booking.com doing to support both types of vacation rental owners?
  • There has been some concern in the industry about fraudulent payments and stolen credit cards being used on online booking platforms, what is Booking.com doing to prevent this?
  • Fine print is important. What does Booking.com do to ensure guests are reading the fine print and complying with property policies?
  • The new Booking.com review system scores the property individually for cleanliness, facilities, etc (as they did before) but instead of the overall score being an average of those individual figures, a guest can now separately give an overall score. Some properties may have a guest who gave us top marks 10/10 for each category, but the overall is worked out at 8/10. Why does this happen? How can you get an overall mark of 10/10?
